Special Programming

Performances

Our mission at MJS is to create an atmosphere where students learn to love music more, are encouraged to take risks, and express themselves in the safest environment possible. Every policy at our studio was created with the greater student experience in mind and heart.

We pride ourselves in offering, on average, 4 performance opportunities every year, well above the average (1 per year) of most studios. Each performance presents a unique vibe, environment, time constraint, etc. We aim to provide a diverse range of environments, including indoor, outdoor, public, private, intimate, grand, free, and some with associated costs. This approach ensures that we offer every opportunity for growth while being sensitive to the needs and preferences of all student families and their desired audience members.

We’re continually working hard to identify the expressed range of needs within our studio community, aiming to offer at least one performance per year that meets each identified need. However, please understand that it is not possible to perfectly accommodate all performances with the needs and preferences of every student family.

We encourage open communication and welcome positive and constructive criticism regarding performance opportunities. If you have suggestions or feedback, please feel free to start a conversation by emailing us at musicjunkiestudios@gmail.com. Kristi will be in touch to discuss your thoughts and ideas.

If a particular venue or timeframe isn’t convenient for your family, it’s completely acceptable to skip and wait for the next opportunity. In fact, sign up numbers help us to learn what our clients love and what they don’t! Our genuine hope is that every student family feels at ease participating in MJS events. We encourage each family to select events that align best with their needs and sign up for those. While we would love to have everyone at every performance, as a mom-owned and operated studio, we understand that not everything can be suitable for everyone.

Summer Showcase

For students ages 8 + . Summer Showcase tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Where is it? Our studio! 1701 Enderly Place, 76104

Drop-off & Pick-up Safety – It is OK to drop students off, but Music Junkie Studios does not accept responsibility for students outside of their lesson/activity time. Friends or siblings of enrolled children should never be dropped off at the studio unattended. Enrollment Options – in order of least to greatest value

Drop-Ins – least commitment

Drop-In Tuition is a lesson-by-lesson commitment that is NOT subject to automatic renewal. Lesson reservations are made at booking + payment.

Drop-in students have the option to reschedule up to 2 hours prior to the set lesson time. This request should be made via email to musicjunkiestudios@gmail.com .

Missing the 2 hour window will be considered a missed lesson. Missed drop-in lessons do not qualify for a make-up lesson.

Drop-In lessons are our a-la-carte style enrollment option and are NOT subject to a yearly operations fee.

Monthly Tuition – our most popular enrollment method

Monthly Tuition is a month-to-month commitment that is automatically renewed on the 1st of each calendar month. For this ongoing commitment, we offer this level of enrollment at a discounted rate.

A written notice of discontinuation must be given on or before the last open office day of the month in order to avoid a non-refundable charge to your account (email is OK).  The studio is open Monday – Thursday 2-8pm and Saturdays 10am – 3pm. The holiday closure schedule is posted on your Sawyer account as well as on the wall in the studio, behind the front desk.

Refunds are not available for discontinuation within a given enrollment term. With prior arrangement, we are happy to honor discounted tuition through a partial month for our Monthly students.

A $79 Yearly Operations Fee is required for all students enrolled in Monthly Tuition and will be billed on every anniversary of sign-up for students enrolled in recurring lessons. The fee helps to curb studio costs associated with registration, MJS success kits, lesson materials, facility fees, and ongoing administration & scheduling. Yearly Fees are not prorated, refundable, or transferable. Discontinuation ends your enrollment term. At re-enrollment, your year will start over and a new fee will be charged.

6 Month Membership – the greatest value

MJS Members secure 6 entire months of One-on-One Music Lessons at our most discounted rates. We only open MJS Membership 2 x a year!

-Members SAVE on all Music Junkie Merch, lesson books, and select programs!

-Members get first-priority enrollment for all events (because some sell out!) and relevant performances

-Members enjoy a locked-in rate for as long as they keep membership current

Every student must have their own independent membership I.E. two half-hour students must have two half-hour memberships and can not share one full-hour membership. Because of the steep discount to membership, family discounts are not offered (don’t worry- families save more with membership anyway.)

MJS Membership spots are secured at payment.

Instrument Requirement – Students are required own or to have access to a suitable instrument for regular practice.

Drop-off & Pick-up Safety – It is OK to drop students off, but Music Junkie Studios does not accept responsibility for students outside of their lesson/activity time. Friends or siblings of enrolled children should never be dropped off at the studio unattended. Emergency situations should be communicated to MJS promptly so arrangements can be made for appropriate child supervision.
