If we haven’t met yet—hi, I’m Kristi, founder of Music Junkie Studios here in the Near Southside.
I’ve spent years helping people of all ages connect to music, but for a long time, I dreamed about creating something just for our tiniest neighbors and their grownups. Something joyful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to give families the chance to pause and just be together—with music as the thread tying it all together.
That’s how Music Minis was born.
It’s the class I was looking for seven years ago, when I had my first baby—and just couldn’t quite find. There were options out there, but none of them gave me what I was really craving:
A place to be with my baby, not just next to them.
A class that wasn’t overstimulating or chaotic, but still full of color and joy.
Something gentle, grounding, and playful—but still deeply meaningful.
I didn’t want to just sing silly songs and shake some maracas (though those have their place!). I wanted intentional connection.
I wanted to move with my child.
To learn with them.
To breathe together.
To feel like we were doing something that nourished both of us—not just filled 45 minutes.
And I wanted to do it in a place that felt right—not in a big corporate setting or a noisy gym, but somewhere that felt like visiting a favorite neighbor.
With the right people.
With music echoing through a space where we could feel safe, supported, and seen.
Now, with a one-year-old at home again —my sweet boy, Sunny—I’ve created (alongside our amazing Minis instructors, Maria and Morgan) the very class I always wished existed. A class that’s musical, mindful, and deeply connective—for them and for us.
Not just for the community. Not just for families. But for me too.
I’ll be in the class each week with my own little one, singing and moving right alongside the rest of you. And I truly can’t wait to welcome you in. 💛
💛 So… What is Music Minis?
Music Minis is a 45-minute class for children ages 0–4 and their grownups. It’s all about music, movement, and mindfulness—but even more than that, it’s about connection.
Each week, we’ll sing, dance, explore instruments, move our bodies, pause for a moment of calm, read together, and end with a sweet goodbye song.
The format gives your mini a sense of consistency, while still making room for creativity, imagination, and fun. Whether they want to bounce, crawl, sing, spin, observe, or shake a maraca like their life depends on it—it’s all welcome.
👶 Who’s it for?
If your child is between 0 and 4 years old, this class is for them—and for you.
You’ll be right there in the experience: singing, clapping, moving, laughing, and modeling joy. Because when your child sees you enjoying something, they’re so much more likely to engage.
And if they don’t jump in right away? Totally fine. Some minis dive in on day one, others prefer to hang back and take it all in. Either way—they’re learning.

If the weather is gorgeous, we’ll head outside to the side yard. If it’s less-than-ideal, we’ll be inside in our cozy group room.
