Meet Our Instructors at Music Junkie Studios
Kristi Judd – MJS Founder + Voice Instructor
Kristi Judd founded Music Junkie Studios with a vision centered around student-led learning. Her journey began with a Spivey Hall Music Scholarship at Clayton State University, and she has since dedicated herself to nurturing students’ musical talents. Kristi’s approach combines classical and contemporary music education, helping students achieve everything from scholarships to top competition placements. Her teaching philosophy focuses on making music a profound expression of the soul, tailored to each student’s unique goals and needs.
Maria Demus – Lead MJS Instructor
Maria Demus, a DFW native, brings her vibrant spirit and innovative teaching methods to Music Junkie Studios. With a degree in Violin Performance from Texas Tech University, Maria’s journey has been marked by her passion for teaching, discovered through her involvement with Girls Rock camp. As the director of Music, Movement, & Mindfulness, Maria combines her musical expertise with mindfulness principles, creating a unique and comprehensive curriculum. Her dedication to nurturing young musicians makes her an invaluable part of our team.
Matt Mabe – MJS Instructor
Matt Mabe, a fixture in the Fort Worth music scene, brings over two decades of experience to Music Junkie Studios. A seven-time Best Drummer award recipient, Matt’s dynamic teaching style captivates and inspires his students. Since joining our team in 2019, Matt has been dedicated to sharing his stage experience and love for music, igniting the musical potential of his students. His passion and enthusiasm make him a cherished mentor at Music Junkie Studios.
Ray Osborn – MJS Instructor
Ray Osborn, a Fort Worth native, is a brilliant composer and musician with a deep love for teaching. With a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from the University of Texas at Arlington, Ray’s versatility spans various musical styles and instruments. Since joining Music Junkie Studios in 2017, Ray has been a devoted mentor, tailoring his teaching to align with his students’ interests. His profound knowledge and appreciation for diverse musical genres make him the perfect guide for aspiring musicians.

Q: What if we need to miss a lesson?
We have options to keep you on track. Monthly Tuition students can take advantage of quarterly Free Lesson Days, or switch to an online lesson — same day, same time, same teacher. Drop-In students can reschedule with at least 3 hours’ notice. Tuition is appointment-based, not attendance-based, so there are no refunds for missed lessons, but we work hard to make sure you don’t fall behind.
Q: How much do lessons cost?
We offer three enrollment options to fit your family: Drop-Ins for maximum flexibility, Monthly Tuition (our most popular — discounted rate with a 48-lesson annual guarantee), and 6-Month Memberships for the best value with locked-in rates.
